Feeding baby parrots!!

Hola Nietos!! Grandpa and Grandma wanted to tell you about an adventure we had today.

We helped to feed some baby parrots. There were 270 Orange-fronted conure parrots that were taken from their mamas by some bad men here in Mexico. They were trying to take them across the border into the United States to sell them illegally and were caught by the Mexico police. These bad men are now in jail for 9 years.

Today we helped feed the baby parrots with a dropper. They have to be fed 3 times a day with Gerber baby food, like cereal and fruit. Some medicine and vitamins were also put in the baby food to help them grow strong. The baby parrots should be ready to feed themselves in about 2 weeks. It was an amazing experience getting all sticky feeding them the baby food with a dropper. When they get big enough, they will be released back into the forest some where close to Mazatlan. We are hoping to be able to watch them when they are released. We were so happy to be able to help these poor little baby parrots that had been taken from their mamas.
Here is a little information on this type of parrot, which is the most popular in all of Mexico.
This is a picture of just a few of the baby parrots. There were a whole lot more and they were very hungry and made lots of noise.

Here is a video of us feeding the baby parrots with a dropper.
